“Prayer Encouragement”

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”             – 1 Peter 1:8-9 (ESV)

Although we have not seen Jesus with our physical eyes, we love Him deeply. And even though we do not see Him now, we trust Him with a joy that runs deeper than circumstances. A joy that is “inexpressible and filled with glory,” because we know the salvation is secure in Him.

That same unseen Savior is the One who stands between you and the person you are entering a prayer covenant with. Your commitment to pray for one another is more than a mutual promise; it is a shared act of faith in the One you cannot see but fully trust.

When you pray for each other:

  • You are inviting Jesus and His continual intercession to become part of the prayer covenant.
  • You are strengthening one another’s faith in the unseen but ever-present Christ.
  • You are helping each other hold onto the joy and hope that 1 Peter speaks of.

This covenant serves as a testimony: “We believe in the One we cannot see, and we trust Him enough to carry each other to His throne every day.”

As you lift each other up, God will weave your prayers into encouragement, endurance, and spiritual joy. Furthermore, during times when one of you feels weak, the other’s prayers will serve as a lifeline, reminding you both that Christ is near, Christ is faithful, and Christ is working.

May the covenant you make with someone deepen your love for Jesus, strengthen your bond with each other, and fill your hearts with the glorious joy that comes from trusting the Savior you have not seen, yet love with all your heart.
